Heat Advisory in effect through 8pm Thursday.

Heat index values between 95 and 104 are expected across much of northwest lower Michigan, including our area. Hot temperatures combined with high humidity can lead to heat illness, so we want everyone visiting the resort this week to stay smart about it.

A few tips to stay safe:

- Stay hydrated and drink water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.
- Take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas when you can.
- Watch for signs of heat exhaustion in yourself and others: dizziness, excessive sweating, or fatigue are all signs it's time to cool down.
- Limited overnight cooling means it'll stay warm even after the sun goes down, so keep that in mind for evening activities too.

This weather also has potential to create storm systems throughout the week. Check local conditions before heading to your next destination, and don't hesitate to seek shelter if storms roll through. Stay cool, stay safe!
